In the past, Emily has held the positions of Ladies Auxiliary Charter Member and Ladies Auxillary President. Emily has been awarded the DE Volunteer Firefigher's Assoc Ladies Auxiliary State President, and DE Volunteer Firefighter's Assoc & Ladies Auxiliary Hall of Recognition awards. Emily was a member of the Ladies Auxiilary in and for the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company.

Birth: Apr. 3, 1916 Death: Jun. 22, 2000 Emily was a charter member and first president of the Indian River Vol. Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary in 1954. She served as their president in 1955, 1959, 1960, 1962 and 1965. She also served as Vice-President in 1958, 1964, 1971 to 1973. She also was Assistant Secretary in 1966-1967. Emily became a Life Member in November, 1979.

In addition to serving her own auxiliary, she was also Past President of the Sussex County Firemen's Association, Ladies Auxiliary.

She was elected and served as the 32nd President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Delaware Volunteer Firemen's Association (LADVFA) from 1968-1969 and also the President of the Delmarva Firemen's Association, Ladies Auxiliary.

Emily received recognition in the Hall of Fame of the Delmarva Ladies Auxiliary as well as the Hall of Recognition of the LADVFA.

Emily was very pleased and proud when she received her Life Membership Certificate and Gold Life Membership Card at a special recognition service held by the Ladies Auxiliary, Indian River Vol. Fire Co., to honor their charter and life members in June, 1998.

Emily was very proud of all her accomplishments within the fire service and continued to participate as much as her failing health would permit. She will be missed by all of us who knew her and recognize her dedication to the Ladies Auxiliary, Indian River Vol. Fire Co.

The Ladies Auxiliary Charter membership enrollment was closed on April 8, 1954 with fifty-three (53) members being accepted to the original charter. Emily was one of these charter members.

During the inaugural elections of the Ladies Auxiliary, Emily was elected President in January 1954
