Story
At 3:33 AM on Wednesday, July 27, we were dispatched to a car fire in front of 29 Creek Drive in Winding Creek Village. The operator of the Lincoln was delivering newspapers when she heard a noise from the engine compartment and noticed the fire. First arriving firefighters found the engine compartment fully involved with the fire working into the passenger compartment. With the temperature still at 80 degrees and the relative humidity over 90 %, conditions well not ideal for firefighters. The fire was knocked down quickly but damage to the car, and its load of newspapers, was extensive. Twenty-four firefighters were in service for one hour and fourteen minutes for this incident.
