Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Friday evening, October 30^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and Mid Sussex Rescue Squad were alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Banks Road.  It was reported that they heard a loud crash and hears horns going off.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 and Incident Command 80 from the Long Neck area as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews provided traffic control, patient assessment and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a white Ford F150 pick up was hit a deer running across John J. Williams Highway causing damage and air bag deployment in the pick-up.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
