Nature: Automatic Crash Notification - Upgraded to Vehicle Accident - John J. Williams Highway

On Tuesday afternoon, October 27^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic crash notification on John J. Williams Highway in the area of the Peninsula Heath (Oak Orchard Professional Suites).  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.  It was reported to be an automatic crash notification.

Initial first responders identified a two-vehicle accident – rear type collision of the westbound shoulder of John J. Williams Highway.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Chief 80 from the Oak Orchard area and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews coordinated traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, patient evaluation and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears bronze Nissan Rogue hit the rear of a silver Toyota Corolla causing damage to both vehicles.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control after emergency response apparatus departed.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
