Nature: Wires Down/Arcing – Bay Farm Road / School Lane, 19966

On Friday, October 9th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted an electrical hazard with wires down or arcing on Bay Farm Road near School Lane.

Emergency response apparatus from Indian River included Duty Officer 80 from the Long Neck area and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments identified that cable television wires were pulled down via truck that did not remain at the incident location.  The incident personnel provided the utility pole identification number, cleared the wire from the roadway and cancelled all responding emergency response apparatus.

It appears that cable television wiring become dislodged and fell into the roadway after being dislodged by moving truck causing concern.

The respective utility service provided was notified and will respond accordingly.
