Nature: MVC – Bicycle – Long Neck Road – Bayside Bait & Tackle

Location: 34836 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, DE  19966

On Sunday afternoon, August 30^th, the Indian River (80) Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a bicycle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of the Paradise Pub.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Sussex County Paramedics, and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper #2.  It was reported that person fell off an electric bike and was seriously injured.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, traffic control and preparation for a landing zone for the aviation unit. 

It appears that a person fell off an electric bicycle while traversing down Long Neck Road.  The aviation unit did transport the injured party to needed medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigation.
