Nature: Fried Chicken Dinner Event

Location: Station #1 – Oak Orchard

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company (IRVFC) hosted its drive-thru fried chicken dinner on August 22^nd and encountered a significant degree of community support that yielded more favorable processes designed to ameliorate the customer wait times.

While the event was a fundraising success, the volume of people interested on social media translated into early-forming lines, before 1:30 p. and some of the modifications seemed more favorable with the customer responses.

Event Overview:

• Event Name: Indian River Auxiliary Fried Chicken Dinner Fundraiser

• Date & Time: Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

• Location: Indian River Station #1, 32628 Oak Orchard Rd, Millsboro, DE

• Type: Drive-thru only fundraiser

• Cost: $15 per meal

• Menu: Four pieces of fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, cole slaw, a roll, and dessert

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is thankful for the customer commentary and continues evaluating ways to ameliorate these operational challenges. Our overall goal is to keep the line moving more efficiently so we can serve as many people as possible.
