Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: Pebble Beach Rd and White Heron, 19966

Late Friday afternoon, August 21^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident involving a golf cart on Pebble Beach Road near White Heron Road..  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Sussex County Paramedics, the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper 2 and the Delaware State Fire Police. It was reported that a person fell off a golf cart with injuries to head and eye.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization where necessary, patient stabilization where necessary, traffic control and assistance with preparation for aviation transfer as well as overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that person fell off a golf cart causing injury to head and eye and needed priority EMS assistance and was flown to Christiana Medical Center.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic assistance at the incident as well as the designated landing zone at the overflow parking facility off Pot Nets Road.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
