Nature: MVC – Rollover – Holly Lake Road

On Friday afternoon, August 21^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident involving a roll-over on Holly Lake Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Sussex County Paramedics, the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper 2 and the Delaware State Fire Police. It was reported single vehicle roll-over on the bend.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization where necessary, patient stabilization where necessary, traffic control and overall incident mitigation efforts.  The aviation units and paramedic response units were cancelled.

It appears that a blue Toyota Corolla was traveling on Holly Lake Road rounding a curve and lost control before skidding off the roadway into the wooded area striking some fencing poles, roadway signs and over turning.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the closure of Holly Lake Road for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
