Nature: Carbon Monoxide Detector
Location: 26402 Tributary Blvd, 19966
On Friday evening, August 14th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a Carbon monoxide detector activation on Tributary Blvd. in the Peninsula Lakes development off Bay Farm Road. It was reported that the carbon monoxide detectors were sounding in the residential structure.
Emergency response units included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.
Emergency response personnel completed an initial exterior evaluation before commencing with an interior evaluation. There were no meter readings within the residential structure.
After evaluation, all units were cleared.
In order to ameliorate these occurrences, Indian River recommends:
-
Checking detector types and locations.
-
Upgrading to modern multi-sensing detectors.
-
Ensuring regular maintenance.
