Nature: Automatic Crash Notification – Water Rescue – Assist Rehoboth Beach

On Sunday afternoon, August 9th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist Rehoboth Beach (86) Volunteer Fire Company with an automatic crash notification – water related in the Rehoboth Bay. Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics, the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper #2, the United States Coast Guard, and the Delaware Fish & Wildlife – Marine Police.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Engine 80 from a previously dispatched incident and Utility 80 with 80 Marine 2 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.
Emergency response marine units responded to the designated area and coordinated vessel be vessel search with no avail.
The Marine Police evaluated and could not identify any marine units or mariners in distress.
The incident was marked unfounded and all emergency response resources with authorized to return to their respective quarters.
