Nature: MVC – Motorcycle Accident – SECOND ALARM IN DISTRICT

Location: Banks Rd and Creek Dr, 19966

On Saturday afternoon, July 11^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a second alarm in the district which was a motorcycle accident on Banks Road and Creek Drive. Additional emergency alerts the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper #2.  It was reported to be a single motorcycle incident with cycle into a fence.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Winding Creek area and the Delaware State Fire Police.  All aviation units were down due to weather conditions.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization where needed and traffic control.

It appears that a black motorcycle was traveling on Banks Road approaching the section of curving roads prior to Winding Creek Village and left the roadway striking the fencing.  The Mid Sussex Rescue with the Sussex County Paramedics transported to person to nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the closure of Banks Road for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
