On Tuesday afternoon, June 30th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a water rescue – priority incident on East River Drive in White House Beach.  Additional emergency alerts included the Dagsboro (73) and Millsboro (83) fire department marine units, the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Sussex County Paramedics, the Delaware State Police – Aviation Unit – Trooper #2, the DNREC Marine Police and the United States Coast Guard – Indian River Squadron.  It was reported that a female was in the water, possibly stuck in the mud, near the docks across from the address provided.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Utility 80-8 with 80 Marine 1 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility; Utility 80-11 with 80 Marine 2 and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response crews were assigned to the respond to the White House Beach Marina area based upon updated reports that the person was out of the water and CPR had been initiated.  All marine units were to stage at their launching site pending additional information.

It appears that a female person was located in the water near the docks on East River Drive in the White House Beach development.  The person was removed from the water and emergency medical procedures were initiated.  The person was transported to nearby medical facilities.

The aviation unit, mutual aid emergency response units as well as other Indian River units were cancelled.

The Delaware Marine Police and State Police are investigating.
