Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Rosdale Rd near John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966

On Sunday morning, May 24^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Rosedale Road approaching John J. Williams Highway.  Additional emergency alerts include the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.  It was reported to be a car into the wooded area with airbag deployment.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments include vehicle stabilization if needed, investigate and evaluate the potential for vehicle occupants because preliminary indications identify occupants have left the scene, Squad 80 was assigned to evaluate the area for potential vehicle occupant(s) within the immediate vicinity.

It appears that a white compact car was traveling down Rosedale Road and did not successfully navigate slight curve in the roadway.  The vehicle was embedded into the wooded area with airbag deployment and no occupants in the vehicle.  There were no vehicle occupants located by the EMS or fire company response units.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
