On Monday morning, May 11th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm incident within a residential structure in the Baylis Estates development. It was reported to be an automatic fire alarm activation in a residential structure. 
 
Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. 
 
Emergency response units from Indian River coordinated an initial exterior residential survey and commenced with an interior evaluation after gaining access remotely in collaboration with the homeowner. 
 
It was determined that this incident was the result of a malfunctioning system which reset automatically prior to the interior evaluation process. The interior evaluation did not yield any unfavorable residential conditions. 
 
The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with the incident as well.
