Nature: Automatic Crash Notification – School Lane

Location: School Lane and Ritter Dr Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday, April 24^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted with an automatic crash notification in the area of School Lane and Ritter Drive.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Long Neck facility and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

All emergency response units were cancelled after responding units could not identify any vehicle related incident in the area and no response to callback attempts.

CRASH DETECTION ALERT – DON’T IGNORE THE CALLBACK!

Your iPhone or Apple Watch may automatically detect a crash and contact emergency services. But did you know it can also trigger accidentally if you drop your device?

If you receive a call from 911 after a drop — ANSWER IT.  Let them know you’re safe.

Failing to respond can tie up emergency resources and delay help for someone in a real emergency. Help us so we can help someone who needs emergency services.

All fire company emergency response apparatus were authorized to return to their respective quarters after the assignment was completed.
