Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Hollymount Rd and Indian Mission Rd Harbeson, DE 19951

On Friday afternoon, April 24^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident at the intersection of Hollymount Road and Indian Mission Road near Harbeson.  Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics, as well as the Milton and Lewes EMS units.  It was reported to be a two vehicle motor vehicle collision at the intersection, possibility of three (3) persons desiring evaluation.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Rescue 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as Traffic Control 80 and the Delaware State Fire Police. 

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, traffic control, vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery as overall incident mitigation efforts. 

It appears that a Toyota Camry and a Ford Explorer collided at the intersection causing damage to both vehicles.  At least two persons were transported to nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with the roadway closures for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.

While mitigating this vehicle accident incident, a motorist stopped and advised of vehicle accident further north from this intersection.  Tanker 80 was assigned to mitigate that incident concern as well.
