Nature: Medical Emergency – Lift Assist

On Saturday morning, April 19th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad with a medical emergency with a lifting assist assignment on Scarp Street in the Pot Nets Bayside development.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Engine 80 from the Long Neck as well as Utility 80 from the Oak Orchard facility. The Delaware State Fire Police assisted where needed.
The fire department lift assist assignment involves a team of trained firefighters who respond to calls to assist individuals who have fallen and need assistance.
