On Tuesday afternoon, March 31^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad with a medical emergency by providing manpower assist in the Pot Nets Lakeside development.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Utility 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Brush 80 from the Long Neck facility.

A manpower assist is a fire service incident where additional personnel are requested to assist with heavy lifting, patient transport, or complex, labor-intensive tasks that exceed the capacity of the original unit on scene. These calls ensure safety and efficiency during, for example, cardiac arrests, bariatric patient transports, or large-scale rescues.

All fire company emergency response apparatus were authorized to return to their respective quarters after the assignment was completed.
