Nature: Indian River Hosts First Responder CPR Recertification Process

Location: Station #1 – Oak Orchard Road

On Wednesday evening, March 18th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company hosted an in-service training opportunity for fire company and EMS company first responder CPR recertification efforts.

To get a first aid and CPR certification, you can choose a training format offered by nationally recognized organizations like the American Red Cross and the American Heart Association (AHA). Most certifications are valid for 2 years.

This designated training format was an In-Person (Traditional) model: Led by an instructor in a classroom. Best for hands-on learners who want immediate feedback.

Course Content: You will learn to treat burns, cuts, and choking, and how to perform CPR and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

Skills Test: For blended or in-person classes, you must pass a hands-on assessment with a manikin to receive your card.

The course instructor was provided via the Delaware State Fire School (DSFS).

Approximately 20 persons attended training and received their certification and/or certification renewal.
