Nature: Vehicle Accident – John J. Williams Highway & Arrowhead Trail  - Second Alarm In District

Location: Arrowhead Trail & John J. Williams Highway

On Wednesday afternoon, March 18^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Arrowhead Trail – Indian Summer Village.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Millsboro EMS and the Sussex County Paramedics.  It was reported to be a rear-end type collision involving two vehicles.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Tanker 80 from an earlier vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization where needed, patient stabilization where needed, fluid and debris recovery as well as traffic control for the duration of the incident.

It appears that a blue KIA vehicle struck the rear of white Jeep Grand Cherokee causing significant damage to both vehicles and occupant injury. 

The Delaware State Fire Police assigned with traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
