On Monday, March 9th, the Indian River (80) and Frankford (76) were providing a stand-by cover-up assignment for the Millsboro (83) Fire Company when were dispatched to a gas leak at a residential location on Gravel Hill Road.  It was reported to be a gas leak in the front of the residential structure from a propane tank that was off-venting.

Emergency response units included Rescue 80 returning to Millsboro from the Peninsula Lakes incident and Engine 76-1, Ambulance 83, and Traffic Control 76 from the Millsboro Station #2 area.

Emergency response crews arrived to find the propane service personnel already on scene, shutting the propane off and awaiting other personnel to remove the tank from the area.

It appears that the tank may have been overfilled and with the warmer temperatures and expansion of the liquid propane gases it created an off-gassing situation.

All emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective quarters.
