On Saturday, February 7th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company hosted a duty crew to coordinate various activities around the fire station and to be prepared for an immediate response to any fire, rescue, and/or EMS emergencies within the specific fire district.

The duty crew includes volunteers who undergo rigorous training programs to enhance their skills in firefighting, emergency medical services, and other essential areas. These personnel are paramount for ensuring the safety and well-being of the community during period of inclement weather, state of emergencies and other specific activities.

This specific event was utilized to evaluate equipment and apparatus operational readiness especially during the period of unprecendent winter weather as well as performing designated tasks assigned by company leadership which included merchandise package preparation for designated inventory of the fire company.

This duty crew was able to fully staff two pieces of apparatus as well as the incident command unit which was utilized to respond to a vehicle accident within the fire district during the duty crew hours.

Indian River thanks all of the volunteers that staffed these apparatus and performed the designated as requested.
