Nature: Wires Down/Arcing

Location: 35264 Bay Breeze Lane Rehoboth Shores, DE 19966

On Thursday evening, February 5^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a wires down / arcing issues on Bay Breeze Lane in the Rehoboth Shores development off Long Neck Road.  It was reported that a loud pop, seen sparks, and hears humming with no electric to the residence.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an initial 360 exterior evaluation of the structure, provide an incident synopsis to the Emergency Operations Center, coordinated a primary interior residential search.  The respective utility service provider was notified and requested to respond to the incident location.

It appears that an electric lag was interrupted causing an electrical outrage to the residence. The electrical panel shut-off was secured. The utility service provided was notified to respond to the scene.

All respective emergency response units were authorized to clear and return to their respective quarters.
