Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm – Multi-Residential Apartment Building

Location: 27270 18Th Blvd., The Peninsula, DE 19966

On Saturday, January 24th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm sounding at a multi-residential apartment building on 18^th Blvd in the Peninsula development off Bay Road.  It was reported to be an automatic fire alarm sounding.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 and Command 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an exterior evaluation and initial interior evaluation discussing with the occupants at the residential structure.

It was determined that the residential occupant had a faulty detector.

All emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective stations.
