Nature: Gas Leak

On Friday evening, January 9^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a gas leak incident on Quiet Waters Avenue in the Peninsula development off Bay Farm Road.  It was reported to be a large propane tank hissing and you could smell gas in the area.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an exterior evaluation of the incident which included identified portable propane tanks with one on its side. The tanks were shut off and the utility service provider was notified to send a representative for evaluation and corrective action.

All further evaluation all emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective quarters.
