Saturday July, 2 2011 @ 21:17:22 Nature: Water Rescue Priority Address: Coordinates: 38 39'51.28"n & 075 07'50.66"w w/o Marsh Island & West Bay Park The Indian River, Rehoboth & Lewes fire companies were alerted for a water rescue priority incident where multiple calls were received at nearby emergency operation centers identifying that multiple flares sightings were reported in the vicinity of Marsh Island and West Bay Park off of Rehoboth Bay. Emergency response units from Rehoboth, Lewes and Indian River dispatched to the area to investigate. Marine Units from Indian River included 80 Marine 1; 80 Marine 2; and 80 Marine 3; the Delaware Department of Natural Resources Environmental Control Marine Police; the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit (Trooper #2). All of Indian River units responded from the Massey’s Landing Public Boat Ramp with 80 Marine 2 and 80 Marine 3 actually launching while 80 Marine 1 was held at the ramp location. It was determined that the vessel and occupants were towed to shore safely and all emergency response incidents were cancelled.
