In the past, Richard has held the positions of 2nd Assistant Chief, Chief Engineer, President, Vice President, Assistant Treasurer, and DVFA Delegate. Richard has been awarded the Sussex County Volunteer Firefighters Association President, IR Past President, IR Past President, IR Past President, IR Past President, and IR Past President awards. Richard joined the Delaware Fire Service in the late 1950s and assisted the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company in the following capacities: Firefighter; Second Assistant Chief; Chief Engineer; President; Vice President; Assistant Treasurer; and DVFA Delegate. Richard also served as the Sussex County Volunteer Firefighters Association President.
