HALL RENTAL CANCELLATIONS THRU JANUARY 31ST

Due to the heightened risk and exposure to the infamous COVID-19 Pandemic and the recent State of Emergency Declarations by the Honorable John Carney, Governor of the State of Delaware, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company has authorized the cancellation of ALL events – public and private with gathers more than 10 persons.

It is not an easy or popular choice to make these decisions; however, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company believes this is an imperative decision in order to promote safety and well-being of our first responders, fire company membership, community members and patrons of our events.

Please keep in mind that there are things every Delawarean can do to stay healthy.

  • Cover your cough.

  • Wear your face mask.

  • Limit your interaction with large groups of people especially important for at-risk populations.

  • Maintain Social Distancing Recommendations.

It is our hope to assist with the prevention of the spread of the coronavirus and to flatten the curve.

Additionally, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company has been ordered to fulfill the following Station Procedures:

  1. Facemasks for source control MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES except for eating or drinking.  If First Responders must remove their facemask, for example, in order to eat or drink, they should separate themselves from others.

  2. SOCIAL DISTANCING MUST OCCUR IN ALL PARTS OF THE STATION, to include offices, radio/dispatch rooms, booking areas, day rooms, kitchen/dining areas, apparatus bays, dormitories/sleeping quarters and other common areas.

  3. Social gatherings, visitors and off-duty visiting is to NOT TO BE PERMITTED.

  4. If personnel are off duty, they are not be in the station/admin facilities.

  5. Eliminate in-person, non-essential meetings. Use teleconferencing if possible. Promote telecommuting for non-essential personnel.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company apologizes for the inconvenience and looks forward to seeing you at future engagements when they reconvene.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company will work with each hall reservation in hopes of rescheduling or refunding any applicable fees collected.
