Nature: Brush Fire

Location: Baywood Greens (80) across the street

Address: John J Williams Hwy and Greens Way Millsboro, DE 19966

On Monday afternoon, July 4^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a brush fire on John J. Williams Highway adjacent to the newest area of Baywood Greens.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Utility 80-11 with Polaris 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Brush 80-0, Engines 80-3 and 80-1 from the Long Neck facility. Additional emergency resources included a brush truck, engine, and tanker assist from the Rehoboth Beach (86) Volunteer Fire Company were requested to the incident location. 

Emergency response crew assignment included fire suppression, water supply, water shuttle operations, overhaul, and area saturation as well as traffic control.

Emergency response personnel arrived on scene and identified approximately two acres of high grass vegetation, brush, and pine trees involved with fire which was spread towards the woods edge.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic in the area during the incident.
