Nature: Appliance Fire

On Tuesday evening, September 19th, the Indian River (80) and Rehoboth Beach (86) fire companies were alerted to assist Lewes (82) fire department with a working structure on Coastal Highway near Lewes.  It was originally reported as an appliance fire.

Emergency response apparatus from Indian River included Ladder 80 and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard location as well as Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility.  The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.

Emergency response crews were requested to report to the manpower pool for designated assignments and were directed to assign with salvage and recovery efforts, clean up, and overall general assistance.   Afterwards Engine #80-1 was assigned to provide a cover up assignment at Lewes Station #2 and Tanker 80 was assigned to provide a cover up assignment at Lewes-Rehoboth Station #3

The Delaware State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating.
