Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Seymour Lane, Millsboro, DE

Early Thursday morning, April 27th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Seymour Lane. It was reported to be involving a utility pole with electrical service out in the area.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, incident mitigation, traffic control, and notification of the electrical service provider. It appears that a silver Chevrolet Pick Up was traveling on John J. Williams Highway and left the roadway striking a telephone pole causing a power outage within the area.

The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control assistance for the duration of the incident. John J. Williams Highway encountered lane restrictions.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
