Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: John J Williams Hwy & Arrowhead Trail, Millsboro, DE 19966

On Monday afternoon, July 27^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Long Neck Road.  It was reported to be a two vehicle collision with minor injuries with one vehicle on the roadway shoulder and the other in the convenience store parking lot.

Emergency response units included Rescue 80 and Incident Command 80 from the Oak Orchard area as well as Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck area.

While performing scene clean up and incident evaluation, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an additional vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Indian Summer Village.

It appears that black Mazada sedan was traveling east on John J. Williams Highway while a brown Chevrolet van was traveling west on John J. Williams Highway.  The two vehicles collided for an unknown reason with van leaving the roadway into a nearby field.

This segment of John J. Williams Highway was closed for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control assistance for the duration of the incident at both incidents.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
