Nature: Vehicle Accident Serious

Location: Your Neighborhood Store 34792 Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Sunday evening, July 12th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of Your Neighborhood Store. It was reported to be involving a motorcycle and a vehicle.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility.

Emergency response assignments included scene mitigation, traffic control, assist with patient stabilization if needed, vehicle stabilization, and debris and fluid recovery. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling on Long Neck Road when a brown Kia SUV attempted to turn into the motorcycle’s oncoming path. The motorcycle struck the right front fender of the SUV causing damage vehicles and injuries to the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist was transported to nearby medical facilities by the local emergency medical services provider.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
