Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Saturday evening, October 31^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of the Royal Farms. Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Millsboro EMS.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle accident and possibility one vehicle on fire on the eastbound shoulder of John J. Williams Highway.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization where necessary, traffic control and overall incident mitigation efforts.  There was not any vehicle fire.

It appears that silver Honda Civic struck the rear of a Mercedes Benz GLC300 SUV causing damage to both vehicles.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
