Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm - Commercial Residential Structure

On Wednesday morning, September 23rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm sounding within a multi-residential commercial structure on Riverside Plaza Drive off of Oak Orchard Road. It was reported to be an alarm sounding in an adjacent apartment for approximately 30 minutes with no corrective action. 

Emergency response units included Chief 80-15 from the Oak Orchard area and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response crew assignments included a coordinated exterior and interior evaluation of the residential property.  It was identified to be a water leak into the detectors.  The issues were identified to the building management personnel for corrective action. 

All emergency response apparatus were authorized to return to their quarters upon compilation of their assignments.
