Nature: Community Day – Community Church of Oak Orchard

Location:  Oak Orchard Road

On Saturday, September 12th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company attended the Community Day hosted by the Community Church of Oak Orchard.  Indian River hosted a Community Risk Reduction Initiative to highlight Fire Safety and Fire Prevention Information and offered a variety of information and packets on behalf of the Auxiliary and Fire Company.

During the day, Indian River’s Fire Prevention & Auxiliary Cohorts provided various information display and discussions for fire prevention and fire safety, recruitment and retention of personnel, as well as a fire prevention booth, with educational and informational hand-outs for topics which included but not limited to:

• Fire Safety Topics

• Fire Prevention Topics

• Smoke Detector Awareness

• Fire Truck Rides

• Recruitment Initiatives

As traditional goes, the Community Church of Oak Orchard roasted a pig, held a Car Show, provided recreational activities with bouncing booth, Boys & Girls Club representatives, craft show / yard sale, and various other attractions.
