Nature: Vehicle Accident – John J. Williams Highway

On Friday afternoon, September 4^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway between Autumn Road and Tucks Road on the east bound side of the roadway.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.  It was originally reported to be a property damage incident until an occupant needed EMS services for a leg injury.

Emergency response units from Indian River were held at the station after Deputy 80 arrived on location and downgraded the incident to EMS response and fire police.

Emergency response crews provided EMS assistance and traffic control assistance for the duration of the incident.

It appears that a brown Toyota Crown SUV was struck in the rear by a lime green Jeep Renegade causing injury and damage.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted where needed for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
