Nature: Vehicle Accident – Long Neck Road & Pot Nets East

On Saturday morning, July 11^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road near the Pot Nets Bayside – East Gate Entrance.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.  It was reported to be a rear-end type collision with unknown types of injuries.

Emergency response units from the Indian River included Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation, patient stabilization and assistance with traffic control where needed.

It appears that a white Chevrolet utility body work truck struck the rear of a black Jeep Cherokee causing damage to both vehicles. The fire company response was not needed and cancelled while the EMS units handled the patient mitigation concerns.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
