Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: John J. Williams Hwy / Bay Farm Road, Millsboro

On Friday, June 5^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway and Bay Farm Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle collision and unknown on injuries.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that white Chevrolet compact car and a black Honda Accord collided at the intersection of John J. Williams Highway and Bay Farm Road.  One person was transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observation.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident with restricted traffic patterns on eastbound John J. Williams Highway as well as Bay Farm Road.  There was a detour implemented duration the mitigation phase of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
