Nature: Carbon Monoxide Detector
Location: 35437 Joann Dr Mariners Cove, DE 19966
On Saturday morning, May 16th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a carbon monoxide detector activation on Joann Drive in the Mariner’s Cove development off of Long Neck Road. It was reported as a weird smell inside the residence and CO detectors are going off.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Incident Command 80 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility.
Emergency response crew assignments included an initial size up task, exterior and interior evaluation with gas meter detectors as well as overall evaluation. The propane was shut off to the residential structure.
After evaluation, it was undetermined as the cause for the odor, ventilation was coordinated, there were not any meter readings inside the residential structure.
After discussion with the property occupants, all emergency response apparatus were authorized to return to their respective quarters.
