Nature: Small Outside Fire

On Saturday morning, May 16^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an outside fire in the Holiday Pines development off Friendship Road.  It was reported to be a burning of a couch in the roadway.

Emergency response apparatus from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Brush 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews identified the correct location as Independence Drive and Friendship Road and initiated fire suppression activities.

It appears that a couch was placed in the roadway and set on fire.  The fire was suppressed.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.
