Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Tuesday afternoon, May 5^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the area of the Royal Farms.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and Millsboro EMS.  It was reported to be a two vehicle accident.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Brush 80 and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control and incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a blue Infinity QX60 SUV and a maroon Toyota RAV4 collided near the entrance to Royal Farms.  Both vehicles were off of the roadway with one in the ditch and the other on the shoulder.  Two persons were transported to nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
