Nature: Indian River Attends YMCA's Healthy Kids Day Event

Location: YMCA – Church Street – Rehoboth Beach

In a collaborative partnership effort, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company assisted the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company with a fire prevention initiative at the YMCA in Rehoboth which hosted a Healthy Kids day event.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company offered fire prevention and fire safety materials as well as an opportunity see and touch-a-fire truck.

The purpose of a Touch-a-Truck campaign is to provide hands-on, educational, and interactive experiences for children to explore, climb, and learn about heavy machinery, emergency vehicles, and commercial trucks. These community events build engagement and foster appreciation for "community heroes."

Indian River continuously runs fire prevention community outreach initiatives, including door-to-door campaigns, community association and church group meetings, community canvases, and public events to share such information.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is a 100% volunteer organization that serves areas immediately west of Rehoboth Beach.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company acknowledges and thanks the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company for the opportunity to be of assistance.
