Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm – Commercial Building – John J. Williams Highway

On Monday April 6^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm sounding at Renaissance Nursing Home on John J. Williams Highway.

Emergency response units included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an interior and exterior evaluation which determined a sprinkler house issue which necessitated the maintenance personnel to respond. There was not any hazard for the nursing facility.

All units were permitted to return to their respective facilities and placed the commercial structure on officer's call for 72 hours.
