Nature: MVC – BLS – Banks Road / Back Nine Way, Baywood

On Friday, March 27^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and Mid Sussex Rescue Squad were alerted for a motor vehicle accident on Banks Road in the vicinity of Back Nine Way.  It was reported to be a motor vehicle accident on Banks Road in the area of Winding Creek Village and Baywood.  The reporting party heard a crash and can see lights but not familiar with the incident specifics.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. 

Emergency response crews were assigned to performed an incident evaluation, patient stabilization and vehicle stabilization if needed.  Initial arriving fire company apparatus identified the incident and downgraded the incident response units.

It appears that gray Honda sedan was traveling on Banks Road and lost control, leaving the roadway and striking the fencing around the Baywood development. The vehicle as was entirely off the roadway.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
