Nature: Vehicle Accident – John J. Williams Highway & Holly Lake Road

Location: Holly Lake Road & John J. Williams Highway

On Wednesday afternoon, March 18^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Holly Lake Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.  It was reported to be a rear-end type collision involving two vehicles.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization where needed, patient stabilization where needed, fluid and debris recovery as well as traffic control for the duration of the incident.

It was reported that a commercial box type truck struck the rear of another vehicle causing injury. 

The Delaware State Fire Police assigned with traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
