On Wednesday evening, February 18th, the Indian River (80) and Lewes (82) fire companies were alerted to assist the Rehoboth Beach (86) Volunteer Fire Company with a multi-residential structure fire on Stony Brook Circle off Coastal Highway. Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.
Emergency response units from Indian River were diverted to provide a standby cover-up assignment at Rehoboth Beach – Station #2 facility.

Fire damages condos at Creekwood
Four condos were evacuated Feb. 18 following a fire at the Creekwood community near Rehoboth Beach.
Members of the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company responded to a report of a structure fire at 8:10 p.m. and found fire climbing up the exterior wall of the two-story condominium building off Route 1.
Lewes firefighters assisted at the scene, officials said, and the fire was quickly extinguished. Four condos were evacuated and the fire reached into one unit, officials said. No one was injured.
Delmarva Power responded quickly to disconnect power to a bank of meters that appeared to be the center of the fire, officials said.
The Delaware State Fire Marshals Office is investigating.
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. — The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company responded to a structure fire Wednesday evening in the Creekwood community off Coastal Highway.
Fire crews were called around 8:10 p.m. and say they found fire burning up the exterior wall of a two-story condominium building. Four units were evacuated as firefighters worked to put out the fire.
Delmarva Power disconnected electricity to a bank of meters that appeared to be the center of the fire, according to fire officials.
The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
The fire was quickly extinguished, with minor extension into one of the condominium units. No one was hurt.
The Lewes Fire Department assisted at the scene, and Indian River Fire Company provided coverage for the Rehoboth Beach and Lewes districts.
