Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 32806-32923 Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday evening, December 11^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and Mid Sussex Rescue Squad were alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road between Ridgewood Road and Radie Kay Lane.  It was reported to that something flew into car, smashed the windshield and the reporting person is hurt.

Emergency response units from Indian River included an Incident Duty Officer and Rescue 80 before the Duty Officer cancelled all responding fire company apparatus.

Emergency response crews (EMS) personnel were to assist an evaluate any occupant concerns.

It appears that a marron Mercury Marquis sedan was traveling on Long Neck Road and hit a deer which was propelled into air, striking a Hyundai Elantra traveling in the opposite direction.  The deer damaged the vehicle, smashed the windshield, and landed in the passenger side of the vehicle.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
