Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: 35268 6Th St Bay City, DE 19966

On Friday, December 5^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics were alerted for a vehicle accident on 6^th Street in Bay City off Long Neck Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper 2.  It was reported to a vehicle into a retention pond and reported person in the water.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Initial arriving emergency response personnel cancelled the aviation and additional EMS units and advised Indian River’s Incident Command of the situation. 

It appears that a minivan backed out of a nearby driveway and ran into a ditch across the street.

All emergency response units were authorized to returned to their quarters.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control during the initial incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
